In today’s complex health care environment it is crucial for all health care providers to recognize the importance of effective communication and collaboration between all members of the health care team, patients, and their families to assure successful outcomes of patient care.. Listening and understanding are two of the key skills needed for effective communication. Gaining a better understanding of physician attitudes and behaviors is an important step in helping them acquire effective communication skills.
